Effect Distillation (MED) in conjunction
with low-pressure steam obtained from
a power station or an industrial process
is considered the most efficient type
of distillation. MED is primarily used
for large-scale plants. The required
steam quantity may be reduced substantially
by means of mechanical (MVC) or thermal
(TVC) vapour compression. |
